“We need to restart our vacation,” said Rick.
“Where?” asked Jules.
“I hear the weather’s warmer down in the Turks & Caicos,” replied Rick.
“Aren’t those pirate waters?” asked Possum.
“What pirates?”
“Pirates of the Caribbean.”
“Been to Disney World one too many times, have we, Captain Ron?” asked Rick.
They all laughed. They had all seen that movie many times. It was one of Rick’s favorites; he always used lines from it.
Captain P-Roy moved the ship closer to Nassau as they awaited Boudreaux’s return. Boudreaux had been on the island after incurring a concussion and being held overnight at the hospital. This stay was more precautionary than anything. He was expected to be released in the morning.
The crew had just been questioned by the DEA and Special Agent Andrews from the FBI about the collision between Ramirez’s ship and Precious Jules. Ramirez’s fiberglass yacht didn’t stand a chance against Precious Jules’ steel hull. Ramirez’s drug days were over now, and he and his cartel were in custody. There would be a power vacuum in Colombia, but the dent in the massive amount of Fentanyl was substantial. Rick and the crew had done what was needed and would soon be rewarded. Ramirez would never see the light of day again and was most likely headed to Guantanamo Bay.
Rick and the crew would receive a large payment for Ramirez’s arrest and conviction. Now that the bad guys were in custody, Rick’s crew came out fairly unscathed except for a few bumps and bruises, save Johnie, who had been shot and was in recovery in Destin. It was time to reflect on their good fortune and continue their vacation, which had been cut short by Ramirez and his criminal antics.
Rick wanted to bury his toes in the sand and chill on the beach. He’d never been to the Turks and Caicos and always wanted to check it out. The time was upon them, and there was no reason why they shouldn’t go.
“Rick, I’ll fly back to Destin, check on Johnie, and bring Boudreaux along. Boudreaux and I need to fly to Mississippi and get the new indoor horticulture business going,” said Gary.
“Don’t you mean growing weed?!” asked Rick.
“Ha-ha, it’s not weed; it’s medical cannabis. Get it straight, Rick. Don’t forget the Monstera Thai Constellation.”
“The monster what?!” asked Rick.
“Monstera Thai Constellation: it’s a highly sought-after decorative house plant. It’s extremely profitable, and we will use Tungsten’s indoor farm to be the largest grower in the country,” replied Gary.
“Okay, Gary. Y’all go grow some plants. I’m gonna lay on the beach and chill.”
“No worries, Rick. I’ll be staying in the Goldstrike Casino. I’ll send you photos from the craps table.”
Rick immediately pulled out his iPhone and looked to see if there were any casinos in the Turks and Caicos Islands. A devilish grin crept across Rick’s face, and Gary knew he had just found casinos at their next destination.
“Touché’ Rick, Touché’! said Gary.
“Enjoy Mississippi, Gary,” said Rick as he laughed and patted Gary on the back.
They loved to pick on each other, but Rick knew what Gary was doing for Boudreaux was life-changing. Boudreaux had been a runner for one of the most dangerous men in the Louisiana mafia, the Cajun Connection. The leader, Ronny Gautier, had been arrested and returned to Florida to face charges of murder. Boudreaux was pivotal in his arrest, and there was a price on Boudreaux’s head. A hit had been called on him, and he could never return to Louisiana. Gary’s plan to co-develop the massive commercial greenhouse to grow houseplants and medical cannabis was something Boudreaux had always wanted to do. Now, he had the opportunity.
Once the ship’s anchor was set, they gathered in the main salon to discuss the next day’s plans.
“I think I’ll go to shore and stay at a hotel near the hospital. Clay, is the jet fueled and ready?”
“Yep, I can do a preflight in the morning, but I had some maintenance done while the plane was at the airport. It should be good to go,” replied Clay.
“I have to return the rental boat to the marina anyway. What are y’all gonna do for a dinghy, Rick?”
“I’ll call ahead and see if I can arrange for a new dinghy to be delivered once we get down the island.”
